53-Man Roster Projection (Offense)
Finishing up our projections, what does the offense look like? How does AB fit it all together?
We’re back for part two of the 53-man roster prediction. The offense is harder to predict than the defense, largely because there are more injury issues. I have made note of them where applicable and I think, for the most part, the numbers will work out fine if a few players have to start the year on the PUP list.
Two quick notes before we dive in. One, I do think there’s a chance that the Browns do something surprising with the offensive line, because of the kickoff rule change. I have thought for a while now that they may end up keeping an extra OL or two and take the extra spots from WR or CB. The thinking here is that, because there’s less running on returns now, you’d prefer to have your blockers on the field rather than speed guys. The best way to predict this will be to watch snap counts during preseason closely to see which offensive linemen are playing special teams and how many.
