Browns Select Quarterback Dillon Gabriel with 94th Overall Pick
Veteran lefty from Oregon is headed to Cleveland to compete for the job.

One of several quarterbacks likely to select a quarterback in this draft, the Browns waited until the 94th pick to land one as they go with Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel. Just two picks earlier the Seahawks selected Jalen Milroe so it remains to be seen if the Browns would have gone that route, but nonetheless Gabriel is the choice and from those around the organization this has been in the works for a while.
Gabriel is a decorated quarterback at the college level with multiple successful seasons across three programs (UCF, Oklahoma, Oregon). He is, however, very limited in body size and testing as he didn’t provide any data and has some of the smallest measurements across NFL combine testing.
Gabriel was born and raised in Mililani, Hawaii on the island of Oahu where he was a developed by his quarterback father Garrett who left Hawaii in 1990 as the school’s all-time leading passer. Dillon was a decorated high school quarterback and then went on to a three-star recruit ranking and a decision to attend UCF despite late process offers from USC and Georgia. After three seasons at UCF he left to join OC Jeff Lebby at Oklahoma where he spent two seasons including a First Team All-Big XII award in 2023. He left for Oregon last season and thrived in Will Stein’s offense as he was First Team All-American, B1G Offensive Player of the Year, and First Team All-B1G.
Gabriel is known of more as a spot quarterback who is aiming to locations and relying on anticipation and timing more than pure traits. He has underrated elusiveness inside the pocket and can throw the ball accurately. The release is quick and the feet work quickly when navigating pressure. He will need to master the anticipation and point guard feel for the game to find NFL success.
