Don't Forget Those Veteran Additions To The Browns Defense

It’s hard to paint the picture for you that the Browns defense in 2024 will somehow be better than last year’s version. It was a special season with several performances that we won’t soon forget.
However, there is a world where the Browns might fail to perform as well statistically as they did in 2023 but the collective whole is a better unit than the one that led the Browns to the playoffs. The core returns largely intact but the way this defense improves is in the role player additions and finding flexibility in the roles they can fill or potentially upgrade.
We can all agree the biggest factor for this team will be health — living through last season’s weekly IR announcement took years off of our lives as fans. If the health improves, which is likely to happen, then the Browns offseason was simply about finding the right role players for roles that suffered in last year’s unit and continuing to find those veterans who can lead the younger portions of the defense to higher levels.
