Welcome in for a rare midweek Gameday edition of the Newsletter. This one is all about the balance between good and bad and how it might fill you with some hope but also make you uneasy. I’d say that is sort of the ritual we experience in perpetuity as Browns fans.

We start with the good where the best news for all us: the backlash, and general malaise, from a brutal Week 11 showing in New Orleans has come and gone with the arrival of tonight’s Thursday Night Football. The Browns are also pretty good in these TNF opportunities as they have won a whopping six in a row.

Want even more good? I got you. Mike Tomlin’s TNF history is quite rough. He struggles with these and the Steelers are even worse when they travel for these events.

But, as we all know, this is not the same type of team the Browns have had the last four years. And it appears the Steelers, now at 8-2, are not the same team either. Every time we expect something from the Browns this year they fail to meet the occasion and it seems the Steelers keep finding ways to overcome.

The question for tonight will be whether the Steelers history in these road events, and Kevin Stefanski‘s success against them at home, will be too much to overcome. I remain interested in finding out the answer to that one — even if you’re dreading it.

We wait no longer, let’s get to everything you need to know about tonight’s Amazon Prime game including a direct link to the Gameday Podcast.

Finally! It's a complicated weather situation on Thursday evening. Temperatures will be low and there will likely be some wind coming off the lake. We could see some snow showers, but it seems unlikely as of now that it will be a full-blown snow game. Anyone who lives in the area knows how that can change, so keep an eye on the forecast. Even if there's not a lot of snow, this will be a classic cold lakefront football game. Since the fall has been so mild, it will be a shock to players and fans, so be prepared for some cold temps and sloppy football. We'll score it a 3/10 on the comfort scale.
