Gameday Newsletter: Week 15, Chiefs
It's a sloppy day on the shores of Lake Erie as the Browns welcome in the defending Super Bowl Champs.
You want a test of whether you love outdoor football weather in December, well here you go. It is cold, windy, and rainy in Cleveland as the Browns welcome the Chiefs into Huntington Bank Field for this Week 15 battle. Today’s game conditions are the type of stuff that can empty out a stadium quite quickly unless you are just “built different.”
This one will be a test of who wants to be there the most. The Chiefs are trying to cruise to the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC in the midst of a brutal “three games in 10 days” stretch as they quickly turn around for a Saturday night game next week against the Texans and then travel to Pittsburgh on Christmas day.
The Browns are trying to find a glimmer of hope in the midst of a 3-10 season and with that record, this weather, and the vibe around the franchise it is ripe for one of those low effort type of affairs that frustrates fans. We will see how they respond to all the distractions that would normally lead to the type of flat effort we haven’t seen since the 2017 season. There are still four games left to be played this season. Plenty of football. Let’s hope they show up.
This game will be broadcast across most of the country during a pretty weak slate of early games as the best the NFL has to offer will come during the 4PM window. Here’s all the information you need for the game including a direct link to the Gameday Podcast we dropped yesterday.
It's gonna be a messy one on Sunday. If you're going to the game, dress in layers and wear waterproofs. As far as the product on the field, it's gonna be very wet and cold. It'll be hard to keep hold of the ball. It'll also be breezy, if not very windy. Between the two, I would expect the offense to be challenging all day.
This is our first 1/10 weather score game of the year. The stadium will probably be pretty empty for this one, but we shall see!
