Looking ahead to the Cleveland Browns wide receiver room in 2025 and whether Jerry Jeudy and Cedric Tillman can fulfill the perceived need.
As the Cleveland Browns gear up for the 2025 offseason, a critical objective is clear: Andrew Berry and the front office must do everything in its power to bolster the offense to not only complete in the division, but across the entire AFC. One question is whether the team needs to add a wide receiver who can consistently stretch the field and deliver explosive plays in order to elevate the offense and capitalize on the talents/capabilities of whomever is under center.
The current wide receiver roster is comprised of Jerry Jeudy, Cedric Tillman, Elijah Moore, Jamari Thrash, Michael Woods II, and Kadarius Toney. Moore and Toney will be unrestricted free agents in 2025 since they will have four accrued seasons, while Woods II will be an exclusive rights free agent and Thrash will be on the second year of his rookie contract. Our focus here will be the first two aforementioned names in Jeudy and Tillman.
From Weeks 1 thru 7 of this season, the Browns offense was historically bad, generating a successful play on just 34.0 percent of snaps (4.3 percent less than the 31st ranked team). However, ever since Jameis Winston took over at quarterback, the offense has performed much better at times. Both Jeudy and Tillman have been direct benefactors and completely different players that what was witnessed with Deshaun Watson at the helm.
