Newsletter: Five Runs That Defined Nick Chubb's Browns Career
There were so many, but here are the five I will always remember.

As we all know by now, the Browns relationship with Nick Chubb came to an end last night upon the news he will be heading to Houston in pursuit of a championship. He will have a clear pathway to playing time inside and aging backfield. Whether the Browns seriously entertained a continued relationship throughout this offseason is unknown, but when they decided to draft Dylan Sampson, their second running back of the draft, it sealed the fate.
We could see this coming. Whether it was one year from now or more immediate, the relationship was going to end quicker than anyone hoped. The best at most NFL positions don’t find themselves with one team their entire career, but especially not at running back where the shelf life is harsh. Unless the player is retiring young (think Barry Sanders), this day always arrives.
But it doesn’t make it any easier to stomach. Chubb was among the more special players to grace a Browns uniform regardless of era, and will have his day of recognition when the time comes. Until that day arrives, though, we do our best to honor him with today’s BFB podcast and his best film work to back it up.
I want to walk you through the runs that will always stand out in my mind. He had so many. Much like Myles Garrett on the defensive side of the ball, the rest of the collective had times where they were difficult to watch. Chubb, however, always found ways to make it fun. So often he turned nothing into something as he was among the best at creating those tough “yards above expected.” His vision, patience, processing, contact balance, strength, and then top-end speed formed a rare combination that was among the best to ever do it — I stand by that.
