Newsletter: Let's Focus in on the Young Core Having Real Moments
2024 sucks but there are plenty of encouraging moments happening for future impact players.
As we’re approaching Christmas and the New Year, I plan to write and cover more about the Browns pieces that matter to 2025. Some of those were on display Sunday as the team dropped a boring clunker in Cincinnati to a Bengals team ripe to get beat. You fumble on the one-yard line after a 60+ yard rush and then give up a 99-yard drive you set the tone for a blowout. But the Bengals wanted to sleep walk through this game and the team battled.
Well, the defense did their part. The offense remains anemic and on a path to being one of the worst in the NFL since the turn of the century. I covered it in details on the latest Browns Film Breakdown Post-Game Show. Unless they stumble into more than 18 points in these final two games against teams who are playing for something meaningful, they will have the highest number of games with 18 points or less in a single season since the 2011 Browns and 2009 Rams. So, no matter how well the defense scraps, this offense will not be willing to help them out.
So, with that dash of grim reality, one we have been living in for three months, we focus on what matters to 2025. We don’t totally know who will be directing said talent but we have an idea some of this young talent is showing they belong in bigger roles and some of them on the fringe are showing they belong period. That’s the focus.
Today we hit on three impactful young defensive lineman.
