It has been a slow week of free agency news for the Browns — no denying that. We have been spoiled over the last few years in this period of the off-season due to the limited draft capital the organization held. Given that issue, they were usually aggressive in free agency to make sure the roster was in the best place it could be without leaning into the draft for any solutions.

I don’t think their “expansion franchise” theory (how the team prepares for the draft, where the Browns are constantly looking for the best available players to fill out the franchise and not a particular position) has changed, per se, but it’s clear with their financial situation tighter than year’s past and their highest draft capital since 2021, they will be focusing most of their energy there.
