Newsletter: Thoughts on everything Andrew Berry had to say at the NFL Combine
The Browns GM opened up more than anticipated.
The Newsletter is a little late today. I apologize for that. It takes some time to listen and transcribe the answers, but I wanted to thoroughly cover everything general manager Andrew Berry spoke about during his media session in Indianapolis. While these events usually find Berry reserved and tight-lipped, he did open up on some popular topics and provide some clarity. Let’s dig into all he had to say while on the podium.
Opening Statement on the Browns position on Myles Garrett’s trade demand.
"Myles, as you guys have all heard me say, he's a huge part of our organization. He's a really good person, he's an awesome player. We understand the trade request and everything, but our stance really has not changed. We can't imagine a situation where not having Myles as a part of the organization is best for the Browns." So I just want to hit that off the top and with that I'll open up for questions."
Berry led off the presser reiterating his stance on not wanting to move the face of the franchise but that’s what you have to say publicly. Nothing matters here until mid-March. That’s when the option bonuses start putting the real pressure on both sides.
