Did the Browns play last weekend? I don’t think they did. Did they? No, they must’ve been on a bye. Yes, of course! They were on a bye. Good. That’s good. They needed that bye, they have some things to clean up. Surely they were not on television being ground into a fine paste by the Washington Commanders! No, if that happened, that was a dream. A bad football dream. A nightmare that never ends. Yes. Yes that’s what it was. Alright. What a relief.
Column over. Bye everyone!

Jameis Winston cannot save the Browns. The season, as it is currently constructed, feels unsalvageable. If the Browns, currently 9-point underdogs, lose in Philadelphia this Sunday, they will be sitting at 1-5 with matchups against the Bengals and Ravens directly ahead of them on the schedule. A 1-7 record doesn’t just feel possible, it feels inevitable, and the Browns might be powerless to stop it no matter who is playing quarterback.
