Yesterday was the final open Training Camp session for the public in Berea. The team heads out to Carolina for join practices ahead of their game against the Panthers on Friday and then will do the same in Philadelphia the following week. They will return for a longer stay in Berea toward the end of the month but as far as public consumption of what this team will be in on September 7th, that’s it.
Plenty will change in over a month’s time. There will be injuries, evaluation boosts and busts, and players acquired. Heavy amounts of cuts will also have to be made. A month is a long time in the NFL world. For now we focus on what we learned on Monday ahead of the real evaluation periods looming in joint sessions and in the preseason.
Overall the session had more live periods than I anticipated. They did two different 7-on-7 sessions, a full 11-on-11 team period and then a final session where they situationally had less than 20 seconds just past midfield and needed to get the ball into field goal range to have a chance to win the game. Let’s dig into what happened in those sessions.
