
Today, folks, is the first day of Training Camp. The pads are finally on, the physicality is at the correct level, and the real football is taking place. It was a scorcher in Berea for today’s session as temperatures reached 90+ degrees with high humidity levels. But that is what you want. This team needs the intensity, they need to sharpen each other.
Down Kenny Pickett— out without a timeline for return per Kevin Stefanski — the Browns younger quarterbacks saw more snaps than ever and with that comes some deeper analysis of their reps. While Flacco took a majority of those first team reps we will see each of the younger faces get more and more time in the coming days.
Overall, the intensity is appropriate and it was on display right from the start as the wide receivers and defensive backs worked a drill meant to simulate bubble screen blocking and defeating. Starts the day out with physicality in pads and gets reps in with getting the key block on those screens or defeating them to blow up a play.
While there was one key defensive highlight we will hit on, let’s first start with the reps from the quarterbacks that caught our eye.
