Saturday Prospect Spotlight: 2025's Best Prospect
We have to discuss the draft's best prospect, even if the odds of a partnership are low.
We’re in the Bowl Season that I love so much. Man, do I love it. Growing up on Christmas Break and just sitting around and watching the best matchups the college level has to offer will always be a core memory for me. Even the commercials
While the landscape has changed, there are still plenty of games to love between Christmas and the New Year and we will focus in on one of them tonight with premier talent play — thanks to those high dollar insurance policies.
Reminder: As the Browns make a return to the first round of this year's NFL Draft, each Saturday we will highlight a player worth watching with the Browns’ prospect preferences in mind! Soon enough come January, we will start some fun mock drafting.
With the idea of a draft pick looming inside the top-four, we have discussed the quarterbacks at play, offensive tackles, and some interior defensive line options but we have neglected the draft’s top prospect. Let’s rectify that today with some focus on Travis Hunter.
History
Hailing from West Palm Beach, Florida, Hunter attended Collins Hill High School in Georgia where he was an elite player early in his high school career playing both sides of the ball. That carried into being the best overall player in his class according to multiple outlets. He originally committed to Florida State in 2020 before switching to Deion Sanders and Jackson State on National Signing Day.
After winning the SWAC Freshman of the Year and 2nd Team All-SWAC awards he followed Sanders to Colorado and flourished in the spotlight. He won All-Conference First Team in two straight years, All-American twice, and the Big XII Defensive Player of the Year in 2024. He took the sweep in the biggest awards on the national level as well with the Walter Camp Award, Heisman Trophy, Chuck Bednarik Award, Fred Biletnikoff Award, and the Lott Trophy.
About as impressive a two year run can be in the FBS.
