The college football weekend has started hot with some fantastic Thursday and Friday games already in the books. The Saturday slate feels like even better. There are marquee matchups across the board in Florida heading to LSU for a night battle in Death Valley. We get Georgia at Tennessee, we get Texas A&M headed North to take on Notre Dame, and several others. Just the slew of great games that feels like home in the fall. Me and my oldest here in Columbus are headed to watch the Buckeyes take on Ohio for a rare night game inside The Horseshoe. His first big time football game. Can’t wait to see how he takes it all in.

Reminder: The Browns have TWO first round picks coming in this year's NFL Draft, each Saturday we will highlight a player worth watching with the Browns’ prospect preferences in mind! Obviously we will focus on the highest-ranked prospects this year because the Browns could have a wide range of outcomes for their pick, but we will expand beyond that scope at times.

It will be impossible to think about the 2026 Cleveland Browns without thinking about who their next quarterback selection could be so that will be a consistent theme of these spotlights throughout the year, but I promise we will branch out in other ways as well.

For today, we continue on the quarterback path with the 2026 cycle’s most enticing prospect. LaNorris Sellers has every tool the modern quarterback needs, plus more. Let’s dig in.

History

Sellers is from small town South Carolina in Florence where he attended South Florence High School and took his team to a state championship win his senior season where he became the No. 4 overall prospect in the state and No. 16 quarterback prospect in the country. After flirting with Virginia and Syracuse commitments, Sellers settled on staying home with the Gamecocks and signed officially.

Sellers arrived as the freshman backup to veteran Spencer Rattler in 2023, and he only played in two games during that first campaign — allowing him to redshirt. He won the starting job in 2024 and earned SEC Freshman of the Year honors, 3rd Team All-SEC, and awards for the All-Freshman team in the SEC and nationally.
