Saturday Prospect Spotlight: Cincinnati's Brendan Sorsby is Climbing
Another name working his way into a serious conversation among the draft's best quarterbacks.

Another Saturday and a full slate of college football action. More opportunities for the draft class to continue to prove themselves and there are some good games on the slate as well. We get a Big XII battle in Utah late tonight as Cincinnati goes West to take on the Utes. We get the SEC battles of course with #9 Vanderbilt at #20 Texas, #5 Georgia and Florida in “The World’s Biggest Outdoor Cocktail Party,” and #19 Oklahoma at #14 Tennessee. While this was supposed to be a marquee matchup, things have changed for the Nittany Lions but they travel to Columbus to take on the #1 Buckeyes. We love a good slate of CFB.
Reminder: The Browns have TWO first round picks coming in this year's NFL Draft, each Saturday we will highlight a player worth watching with the Browns’ prospect preferences in mind! Obviously we will focus on the highest-ranked prospects this year because the Browns could have a wide range of outcomes for their pick, but we will expand beyond that scope at times.
It will be impossible to think about the 2026 Cleveland Browns without thinking about who their next quarterback selection could be so that will be a consistent theme of these spotlights throughout the year, but I promise we will branch out in other ways as well.
As noted above, we are focused on the Cincinnati trip to Utah as we expand on more quarterbacks in the class and the Bearcats Brendan Sorsby is the name who keeps coming up more and more.
History
Sorsby hails from Denton, Texas where he attended Lake Dallas High School. He was a successful dual-threat at the high school level and earned him a three-star rating coming out of school but mostly two-star according to some services. But his offers were limited. Late in the recruiting cycle Indiana offered him late and he chose them over offers from Abilene Christian, Army, Delaware, Fordham, Lamar, Navy, Texas A&M–Commerce and Western Carolina.
Sorsby saw the field a few times in his freshman year for the Hoosiers before eventually redshirting. Then he won the chance to start seven games as a rFR and had plenty of success before the wheels fell off for the team and an eventual coaching change was made. He chose to transfer to Cincinnati where he won the starting job right away in 2024.
