Saturday Prospect Spotlight: West Coast Weapon
The Browns have to consider wide receiver with their premier picks in 2026.

We have another great Saturday of college football, folks. We’re in the thick of it right now as the SEC conference slate heats up and the B1G is giving us premier matchups weekly. The eyes should be absolutely locked in on the quarterback battle between Dante Moore’s Oregon and Fernando Mendoza’s Indiana today as the #7 Hoosiers head to Eugene to take on the #3 Ducks. Plenty to be learned in that game. But we have so many great games starting with #1 Ohio State at #17 Illinois and #8 Alabama at #14 Missouri at noon. Then we have the Red River Rivalry in the 3:30 slot alongside the Indiana and Oregon battle.
Then tonight we get where I’m drawn with USC hosting Michigan in a battle of big-time programs. You also get Florida at #5 Texas A&M and then #10 Georgia at Auburn. It’s non-stop. Don’t miss that #21 Arizona State at Utah battle tonight as well.
Reminder: The Browns have TWO first round picks coming in this year's NFL Draft, each Saturday we will highlight a player worth watching with the Browns’ prospect preferences in mind! Obviously we will focus on the highest-ranked prospects this year because the Browns could have a wide range of outcomes for their pick, but we will expand beyond that scope at times.
It will be impossible to think about the 2026 Cleveland Browns without thinking about who their next quarterback selection could be so that will be a consistent theme of these spotlights throughout the year, but I promise we will branch out in other ways as well.
As I noted above, we I am focused out West today and it’s on the wide receiver dominating for the Trojans. Makai Lemon is a name you should know if the Browns go wide receiver hunting in the first round this April.
History
Lemon is from Los Alamitos, California where he grew up attending La Mirada High School. He received scholarship offers as soon as his freshman year making an impact as a receiver and defensive back. He then transferred to Los Alamitos High School and became an All-American over the next three years. He was ranked as the 13th best player in his class by ESPN, an Under Armour All-American, and a five-star recruit. He committed to Oklahoma and Lincoln Riley initially before flipping to USC when Riley was hired there.
He didn’t have much of a role his freshman year but helped out at cornerback late in the season due to significant injuries on the roster. His second year he found a role in the receiver room and flourished to earn Third-Team All-B1G.
Stats
