The Browns Can Pull This Off
Even if switching quarterbacks was enforced by injury, the Browns have an opportunity now to turn their season around
In the spirit of positivity, I will not mention again (after this) that the Browns were forced into switching quarterbacks on Sunday and that, if they had their way, Deshaun Watson still would have been out there against the Ravens, holding the Browns offense back.
Let's look forward instead. The Browns are 2-6, coming off one of the more unlikely wins of the season. According to DVOA, the Ravens were the best team in football coming into Sunday. By contrast, the Browns ranked near the bottom of the league. That makes Sunday quite an upset. But no one who watched that game would say that the Browns were overmatched.
Cleveland has suffered an historically bad start on offense but Sunday's game felt miles away from the first seven of the season. In fact, Sunday felt like Week 17 against the Jets to clinch a playoff berth last year.
