The GameDay Opening Drive 10/12: Week 6, Another Trip To Three Rivers
The Browns are due, Football Gods. Do you hear us?

Where were you the last time the Browns won in Pittsburgh? I was a freshman in high school trying to navigate competing against grown men and falling in love with the Browns on my own. They were starting to be relevant again and winning meaningful games. Making the playoffs. The Steelers had yet to hit their Ben Roethlisberger era of success and the battle between the post 1999 Browns and Steelers were close. The Browns won two of the first three upon returning. Lost a heartbreaker in Pittsburgh in the playoffs and then won a big Monday Night Football game we’re going to reference here in 2003.
Then it ended after that night and we didn’t know it. Sure, they have won more of the games since Kevin Stefanski arrived, including a half stadium covid playoff game, but they just haven’t found any success in Pittsburgh when the stadium is rocking and inside the regular season. It’s a problem.
The current Browns need this game. If they’re want to get out of the 1-4 rut and keep the division attainable, they have to win. The Steelers are looking to start 4-1 and solidify themselves atop the division as the teams around them slide with injuries and poor play. There’s plenty on the line today at Acrisure Stadium — no longer ketchup field. The question is if the Browns will have enough strong performances to get the win and whether they can force the Steelers to beat them. We’ll see soon enough.
