You hit on a ton of things that I agree with here. The way that the Browns are doing these coaching interviews is literally how every fortune 500 company on the planet does it. I don't understand all the ridicule. Also hiring a young up and comer makes way more sense for the Browns centering around their young core vs someone like the Bills who have been super bowl or bust for the past 3yrs. To be honest I think the Bills are in a tougher spot because whoever they hire, the expectation right away is going to be championship round or better in year 1. I'm not so sure that guy is out there for the Bills. I expect things to get worse in Buffalo before they get better. As for the Browns, it's going to take a few years to get back to relevance so a young coach makes sense so they can have more patience while they work through all the on the job learning that would happen the first few years.

when I read the process I was like "yeah that's the same process the majority of Americans go through now". and I hope if you're hiring a guy with ZERO HC experience and very limited OC/DC experience I hope you're running them through an incredibly rigorous process to mitigate as much risk as possible. Hiring the wrong person is a catastrophic mistake. See John Dorsey.

Yeah they've also hired guys with way more experience and those haven't planned out either. I certainly appreciate due diligence in the case.

the Pelissero report is being handled with zero intellectual honestly. Pelissero said that the Browns have used this "process" several times in the past. Meaning it was used to hire Kevin Stefanski—the same guy that all of the same people would say was a great hire. So the process leads to results you like but it's also stupid. Okay. Whatever.

At this point, the browns could do anything and get panned in media. Until they win nothing will change

This reminds me of when they were ridiculed for having players at the combine do "card tricks". The O-line coach the "hard Knocks" year that looked like a walrus and had the belly which jiggled forever when he said "hut", had them memorize and recall them or something like that. He said it was testing memory and pattern recognition which he felt was important for OLmen. But of course it was spun as Browns dysfunction.

I agree with you bad. Since we have the last 27 years of bad teams, carousel coaches, and carousel QB’s; anything we do is considered bad. If the Bills were doing these things, the industry would call it revolutionary. Even if the Browns hire Udinski, it will be met with negativity.

Imagine John Harbaugh filling out a personality test to show his worth to the GM who presided over the worst trade in pro sports history and an owner who was forced by the feds to relinquish his equity in a family business.

But we have no evidence John Harbaugh was asked to go through this process. Perhaps it's designed to vet super young guys with limited experience. Would that be a horrible idea? And Pelissero said it was used several times by the team in the past. So it's a safe assumption it was used to hire Stefanski.
