The Opening Drive 8/23: GameDay Information, Browns vs Rams
More of what you need to be prepared for Preseason Week 3.

We’re back for the final preseason ride of the 2025 season as the Browns host the Rams at 1 PM today. It’s rare for the NFL to send a West Coast team all the way East in the preseason—especially for an early kickoff like this one. Who knows what to expect from Dresser Winn and the Rams, but the Browns will treat today as their lone true dress rehearsal for the regular season, now just two weeks away.
Kevin Stefanski has noted that everyone is available today outside of those on the injury report, though it remains to be seen whether the “Myles Garrett Tier” of players will get extended run. Either way, the first-team offense is expected to take a few series before turning things over to the young quarterbacks, who will once again put their games on display. That’s well worth the price of admission. I always value when we get more evidence about the young talent on this roster. There’s plenty to learn today, and we can’t wait to cover it for you.
As always on game day, I suggest you sit back, pour a coffee, fire up the best pre-game Browns song known to man, and enjoy a fresh delivery of the best information from the BFB staff.

The Browns' only home game this preseason is forecasted to be partly cloudy with a high of 77 degrees, feeling like 80 degrees around kickoff time. Winds will be blowing at roughly 9 mph to the West and Southwest. There is very small chance of rain but not expected until later on Saturday evening. So it should be a dry and comfortable day at the Huntington Bank Field.
The Rams lead the all-time series against the Browns 14-11-0. Since the Browns returned in 1999, the teams have faced each other seven times, with the Browns losing six of those matchups. The Browns' last victory over the Rams occurred in the 2007 season when the Rams were still based in St. Louis. In that game, the Browns won 27-20, led by Braylon Edwards, who had eight catches for 117 yards and two touchdowns. This road victory improved the Browns' record to 4-3 in 2007, while the Rams fell to 0-8 for the season.

The most recent meeting between the teams took place in 2023, where the Browns lost 36-19. This game marked Joe Flacco's debut as the Browns' quarterback. Despite the loss to the Rams in Los Angeles, Flacco went on to lead the Browns to four consecutive wins and a playoff berth.
