The Sun Still Rose This Morning, But The Browns Have Major Problems To Solve
Yes, it was only Week One but it's impossible to ignore the evidence the team put in front of us on Sunday.
There are plenty of worthwhile cliches for this scenario. The types that truthfully tell us that no season is defined by one week, and certainly not by the season’s first game. There’s solace to be found in those words. And the best part is that they’re true. The sun still rose this morning, we still get to go about our daily life, and the Browns will return to our television next weekend with a real shot to go to 1-1 and make this a distant memory.
On the other hand though, it’s amazing how quickly we forget the doom feeling on a Monday when your NFL team loses. Well, not just loses but gets dominated in a fashion similar to yesterday where it felt like two teams playing a different sport at times. That type of small college against a big college hopelessness that doesn’t belong in the NFL. The type of feeling that was customary for decades for Browns fans, but is less frequent since the turn of 2020 and all the more jarring when it does happen.
