Outside of the trade for Amari Cooper, the Cleveland Browns have not had success in addressing the wide receiver position for a number of years.

The first round selection of Corey Coleman proved to be a bust, as did other draft picks like Ricardo Louis (4th round in 2016), Antonio Callaway (4th round in 2018), and Anthony Schwartz (3rd round in 2021). The Odell Beckham trade that had six-time All-Pro Joe Thomas clenching his chest resulted in nothing but overhype, eye rolls, and film cut ups by a frustrated father.

The verdict is still out on recent selections Cedric Tillman and Jamari Thrash, both of whom could potentially play roles down the road.

In order to try and address what seems to be a perpetual positional need, General Manager Andrew Berry traded a pair of day three picks in the 2024 NFL Draft to the Denver Broncos for former number 15 overall pick Jerry Jeudy. The Browns are hoping Jeudy will be different and the data proves that they might be proven right.
