Browns Film Breakdown: Wednesday Newsletter
Welcome to your weekly Wednesday Newsletter -- where we gather for the content that matters and deliver it fresh to your inbox!
Congratulations! You’ve safely made it through the final round of roster cuts and remain on the Browns 53-man roster. This is an enormous accomplishment for you, dear reader, and we know how much work you’ve put in to get here.
Ah…wait. I’m sorry. I misspoke. You were indeed cut. You were actually one of the very first players to be cut. Like, years ago. That’s my mistake. Your best football days might be behind you, but we are here to provide the pick-me-up you need.
On a serious note, the Browns did cut down their roster on Tuesday after mercifully finishing their three-game preseason slate out on the west coast. While all reports point toward the Browns still looking to trade one of their backups quarterbacks, all three currently remain on the roster behind Deshaun Watson. The team also kept just two running backs (with Nick Chubb set to miss at least the first four games on the PUP list), though veteran back D’Onta Foreman is a candidate to rejoin the team after being waived. Siaki Ika, the third-round pick in 2023 whose struggles we highlighted, was a victim of the numbers game.
There’s a lot to catch up on in the final week before the Browns have an actual opponent to prepare for. As always, we have you covered here at Browns Film Breakdown. Another installment of the Wednesday Newsletter is here to keep you hip with the best of what we’ve published so far this week, so you’re once again as plugged in as any Browns fan you know.
